The Love To Dance Club
Founded in Olympia, Washington, we specialize in Ballroom Dancing, which is characterized by two people dancing together as lead and follow, moving in rhythm to one of a variety of musical genre and tempos.
Typical ballroom dances include the Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Tango, Mambo, Nightclub Two-Step, and more!
We are currently dancing the third Saturdays of the month. Individuals and Couples Welcome.

Love To Dance is a non-profit social organization specializing in Ballroom and partner dancing in Olympia for over 45 years.

We sponsor one ballroom dance per month in Olympia with a one-hour dance lesson before each dance.

Our ballroom dances feature DJ music and live bands.

We also provide information on where to find local dance instructors and dance locations in our monthly newsletter.

We promote ballroom dancing and fun social activity.

2025 dances will be on the 3rd Saturday of every month.

Classes are at 7 PM and the Dances are from 8-10:30 PM.

Love To Dance memberships are $40 per person per year, then individual admission is $5.00 (Covering both Lesson & Dance).

Non-Member Guests are $12 per person per Dance.

Refreshments are available from the Elks Club.

Dance Programs:
Program Highlights
Waltz:
An elegant, romantic, and graceful smooth dance taught in two variations: A pattern called "around the world" while one partner circles/turns around the other in a flowing and gliding motion around the dance floor.
Foxtrot:
A smooth and flowing dance in 4/4 time, often danced to big band or jazz music. The dance emphasizes gliding steps, characterized by long, slow walking movements and shorter, quick steps. An easy fun and very popular dance.
Rumba:
A slow, romantic, and sensual Latin dance, often called "The Dance of Love". It emphasizes hip movements, rhythmic body actions and close partner connection. Essentially Rumba is a Latin version of classical waltz.
Cha-Cha:
A lively, fun, and flirty Latin dance that evolved from the Salza. It's known for its infectious rhythms, and playful movements. The core rhythm features three quick steps (cha-cha-cha) followed by two slower beats.
East Coast Swing:
An energetic and upbeat dance. Typically danced to Big Band and Rock-and-roll music. East Coast Swing is easy and a fun beginners dance.
West Coast Swing:
A modern and fun swing country dance. Popular movements include the Sugar Push, the Sweetheart, and the Cuddle.
Tango:
A dramatic and passionate dance. It emphasizes a close embrace.
The most popular modern styles are American and Argentine Tango.
Salsa:
A popular Latin partner dance showing energetic footwork, fluid turns, and rhythmic hip movements.
Nightclub Two-Step:
An easy and elegant partner dance, especially popular for slow romantic ballads and wedding dances.
